May 18 Paris
I was surprised by how easily you can really see Paris in just a day or two. Everything is so close. The night we arrived in Paris, we all went to the Eiffel Tower. I have been to Paris before, so I wasn't as taken aback as last time. This time we only paid for the ticket to get to the second floor (we were quickly running out of Euro's). We also went to a Perfumeria where we saw how the French make perfume, and stopped by a restaurant to try escargot! I actually like escargot, so I was excited to eat it.
The next day we were free to do whatever we wanted in the morning and afternoon until we would meet up with the group for a planned evening. My sister and I managed to hit the Arc de Triomphe, Champs D'Elysees, Louvre and Tuileries garden, Notre Dame, and many delicious French food carts all in one afternoon. That night our group got together for a formal dinner just above the Sacre Couer. The food was excellent. As this was our last night with the Contiki group, we all went out clubbing afterwards. We had a good time bonding one last time.
